Day 1 – Arrival in Bogotá

  • You will be picked up at the airport by your bilingual guide and will be brought to your hotel in the capital city of Colombia. In the hotel you can fully enjoy a nice dinner and relaxation time. Your beautiful trip is about to begin. Bienvenido a Colombia!
  • Accommodation: Hotel Muisca

Day 2 – Bogotá Bike Tour

  • A beautiful bike tour through Colombia’s capital city. That’s what you’ll do today! Enjoy Bogotá by bike, discover the streets of the historical city center ‘La Candelaria’. This guided tour will give you an idea of the colorful history and culture of this city.
  • Let Bogotá amaze you with all its friendly people, the beautiful parks, lovely tropical fruits, cozy little eateries and much more. You have the opportunity to dive into a city that offers something new & something different everyday!
  • First you will visit the historic downtown of Bogotá ‘La Candelaria’ with its magnificent churches, the government palace, the “Plaza Bolivar” and the fruit market of Paloquemao. You will also visit the famous gold museum ‘Museo del Oro’ as well as the museum of Botero where you can see the beautiful works of famous Colombian artists. Search for the Mona Lisa because she is there!
  • Bogotá has so much to offer. A walk alone will get you to the best spots, nice bars and cozy eateries. In 2010, Bogotá was selected as a Must See Destination by the newspaper The New York Times.

Day 3 – Rock climbing in Suesca

  • After a delicious breakfast in the hotel you will head to Bogotá’s Savanna. We are going to the little town of Suesca for today’s rock climbing adventure. A little excitement is always a good idea!!
  • About 1 km from the town we can find the natural cliffs ‘La Roca de los Aves’. The total length of these natural cliffs is approximately 4 km. These rocks provide routes for all levels and are considered the birthplace of rock climbing in Colombia. Enjoy the beautiful nature and views outside of Bogotá. Have fun climbing your own route.
  • In the afternoon you will head back to Bogotá. It was a tough and active day, so take your time to relax.

Day 4 – Hike to ‘La Chorrera’ in a one-day trip from Bogotá

  • ‘La Chorrera’ is the highest waterfall of Colombia. Of course we are going to see this beautiful giant. Just one hour drive from the bustling capital city, you will be in the middle of nowhere searching for this waterfall.
  • During the amazing hike (3-4 hours) you will see beautiful landscapes and flora & fauna. The level is moderate, but still good walking shoes are recommended. Once you get to the waterfall ‘La Chorrera’ (after about 1,5-2 hours) you will take a break. Enjoy the beautiful surroundings, the tranquility and the beautiful splashing ‘La Chorrera’.
  • At the entrance of the park you will be served a delicious Colombian lunch surrounded by another waterfall. This tour is really something for those who love nature and walking outdoors.

Day 5 – Flight Bogotá – Coffee Triangle

  • Today you leave Colombia’s big capital city.
  • After a nice and good breakfast we head to the beautiful coffee triangle. With a private transfer you will go to the airport, so you can take the flight to the Coffee Triangle. A bilingual guide will pick you up from the airport and take you to your lovely finca. In this finca you are going to spend the next few nights.

Day 6 – Salento & Hike in the Cocora Valley

  • Today you are going to explore the area of Salento. The area of Salento impresses with beautiful scenery. The nature is stunning! You will become intensely happy just by looking around. The giants of wax palms will attract your attention this day. These palm trees can reach a height up to 70m. The walks through this area with tall palm trees is a unique experience.
  • You also visit the town of Salento, where you will see the interesting and ancient architecture.
  • Conversations about coffee can be fun, the traditional “Cafe Jesus Martin” will prove you that. You’ll learn the ins and outs about the special coffees and the process of brewing the coffee. Today you really have to try the best cappuccino and cakes.

Day 7 – Free time in the Coffee Triangle

  • Today you will enjoy a well-deserved day off in the Coffee Region. Just relax by the swimming pool or in a comfortable hammock. This is a welcome change from all the busy days you experienced so far. The beautiful surroundings get you in a ZEN state of mind!
  • Are you full of energy? Then you can arrange a fun tour too. Rafting on the Quindio river or visiting a beautiful butterfly farm are two of the possibilities. Cameras ready, because a lot of beautiful and colorful butterlies will fly around you. There are a lot of things to do in the Coffee Triangle, so you won’t get bored at all!

Day 8 – Adventure at Rancho California – Transfer to Cartagena

  • This morning you will practice a lot of super adventurous activities. For example wall climbing, hanging bridges, zip lining, hanging swings, balance beam, air barriers, Tibetan bridge and Himalaya’s bridge. Choose your own challenge! Everyone can participate. Decide for yourself how far you want to go in this course of adventure.
  • Then there is an interactive and learning adventure on the program. You will go on an ecological horseback riding tour to be in direct contact with nature. It isn’t just a simple ride because you will also learn how to saddle and treat the horses. This 3 hours experience will go to a typical ‘finca’ and continues to the ‘Barragán River’.
  • After exploring the beautiful Coffee Triangle, you will have some spare time! You will need that after an adventurous day like today.

Day 9 – Coffee Triangle – Flight to Cartagena

  • After a wonderful time spent in the Coffee Triangle, you will continue your journey by plane to Cartagena. This city is known as the ‘Pearl of the Caribbean’ and that is completely true! What a great city! This beautiful and friendly city immediately gives you a happy feeling. Feel the secrets of its history in the walls, in the balconies of the buildings and narrow cobbled streets. You can feel the atmosphere and culture immediately. Upon arrival, your transfer will be waiting for you to take you to the hotel.
  • Accommodation: Casa Villa Colonial

Day 10 – Rosario Islands

  • The Rosario Islands are located approximately 40km (1 hour by boat) south-west of Cartagena. Explore the impressive landscapes of Islas Del Rosario with its clear waters, hugh variety of tropical fish and gentle breezes. Islas Del Rosario is a protected national park with beautiful islands. When you are lucky you will have an encounter with the beautiful dolphins.
  • It’s totally up to you how you will fill in your day on Rosario Island. You can do some snorkeling or diving to explore the rich underwater world of the Caribbean. Or just relax on one of the Caribbean beaches and think about your holiday experiences in Colombia so far.

Day 11 – City Tour Cartagena or adventurous kayak tour on Baru

  • Cartagena is one of the most beautiful and colorful cities of Colombia. The combination of modern and colonial architecture makes Cartagena a very impressive city.
  • The city tour offers a lot of variety. You are going to pay a visit to San Felipe de Barajas. A fort which defended the city a long time ago. Experience the bygone times of this beautiful fort. You are allowed to walk through the little alleys of the building.
  • You will see a lot of religious and colonial culture today. For example the Monastery on the hill of La Popa. From the hill you will have a beautiful view.
  • Optional: A 2-day kayak tour in Barú. Early in the morning you’ll head to Gambote. Before you start with an exciting kayak tour you get the safety instructions. A really important start of an adventurous trip like this. The first stage of the tour is in the Canal del Dique, then from Gambote to the beautiful island of Barú and eventually sailing back to the great city of Cartagena. On Barú there will be served a typical Colombian lunch. Feel the sand between your toes, the sun on your nose and enjoy the view of the clear blue seau during this lunch. People who love nature will be euforic today! Tropical birds, iguanas, butterflies and a lot of beautiful plants, trees and views!

Day 12 – Santa Marta – Tayrona Park

  • Free time in Cartagena is wonderful, because you won’t get bored for a minute! Stroll around in the small alleys, visit beautiful monuments, museums, enjoy the latin vibes or the lovely beach of Bocagrande. There is so much to see, do and experience in Cartagena.
  • After a nice time in Cartagena, you will go to Santa Marta. From here you will head to Tayrona National Park which is about half an hour drive from Santa Marta. The green jungle of Tayrona Park is breathtakingly beautiful. Spot more than 100 species of mammals and 70 different species of bats, 31 species of reptiles, 4 species of turtles, 15 species of amphibians and more than 300 different bird species. Are you a true nature lover, then you’ll find everything you are looking for!

Day 13 – Hike in Tayrona National Park – Snorkeling

  • Today you are about to enjoy a very nice combination of mountains, jungle and beaches. During this hiking tour you will get to know the best things of the Tayrona National Park (for example the ruins of terraces, houses, canals, bridges, stairs and architectural buildings).
  • Witness the outstanding civilization ‘Los Tayronas’. Meet the Tayrona people and behold their primitive way of life.
  • Don’t forget to fully enjoy the crystal clear waters, the white sand beaches and the beautiful coral reefs. If you want, you can go snorkeling to explore the underwater world of the Caribbean.

Day 14 – Free time Tayrona Park

  • Today you have a free day in Tayrona Park. Do what you like! Everything is possible. Enjoy the beautiful tropical white beaches, go for another hike to find some monkeys or visit Pueblito (archaeological site with a beautiful history of the indians who used to live there).
  • Close to Tayrona Park you will find the Rio don Diego. A wonderful wide river on which you can float with tubes. It is a relaxing and fun way to discover the nature of the area. There a LOT of monkeys in the area. This is a tour you will never forget!

Day 15 – Departure from Santa Marta

  • Unfortunately it is time to say goodbye to Colombia. Time flies when you are having fun! Hopefully Colombia has enchanted you with its beautiful nature, lovely beaches, lively cities and its friendly people.
  • You will be taken to the airport in Santa Marta to go to Bogotá. From Bogotá you will take your plane back home. Cherish all your new impressions, experiences and memories. They will last a lifetime for sure!
